Privacy policy

This explains what Hungrier (hungrier.lol) collects, why, and your choices. We try to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• If you sign in with Google: your email address, name and profile photo, provided by Google through Firebase Authentication, so we can save your meal plan and basket.
• What you save: your chosen supermarkets, whether you have cupboard staples, your weekly plan and your basket. Without signing in, this stays only in your browser (local storage) and a small cookie remembering your stores.
• Photos you upload to "Snap": sent to Google's Gemini AI to identify ingredients. We don't store the photo; it is shrunk in your browser and sent for that one request.
• Basket handoff: if you use "send via Pepesto app", the list of products in your basket is sent to Pepesto to create a checkout link.
• Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider processes request data (IP address, browser type) to serve the site and keep it secure. We don't run advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't currently use analytics.

Who we share it with (processors)

• Google (Firebase hosting, authentication, database; Gemini for photo analysis)
• Pepesto (basket handoff and supermarket price data)
• If we join affiliate networks, clicking a supermarket link may set tracking cookies from that network or retailer. Their own policies apply.

We don't sell your data.

How long we keep it

Saved plans and baskets are kept while your account exists. You can clear your basket and plan at any time inside the app, or ask us to delete your account and all stored data.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, object to its use, or complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential storage: a cookie remembering your supermarkets, and local storage for your basket, plan and ticked items. Sign-in uses Google/Firebase storage to keep you signed in.
